If you only order or purchase one Back To The Future item in the near "future", make sure it's this one!! This is a must-have item! Intrada put a lot of TLC into this release and it shows; finding all of the good intact masters and reels with the music could not have been an easy feat, but it pays off. This was worth waiting 25 years for! The booklet included with the CDs is very informative - it goes into the genesis of how the film came to be; how Alan Silvestri came to be a composer in the first place; and a lot of information about the early recording sessions and why it was felt that the cues Silvestri originally created needed to change; and a lot of information about the themes and motifs present in the score, what and who they represent, etc.

Incredible Score |

Everyone knows that Back to the Future has a great score. But when most people watch a movie, they sometimes only hear the music without paying too much attention to it. I know sometimes I am. The main theme of the score is of course evident while watching a movie, but one may miss some of the subtleties in the smaller and softer parts of the score, which are often the moments when the music brings out the emotion of the story. Personally it is not until I listened to these two CDs that I could truly appreciate how exceptional, beautiful, and lyrical this music truly is. Back to the Future has probably one of the best score ever written for a motion picture (and my favorite). This CD collection also contains a nice booklet providing interesting information on how the music was developed and the details of how and why Mr. Silvestri was hired to write the score of BTTF. I think this CD collection is a must-have for all BTTF fans. I highly recommend it.

I love it. I was able to mix Earth Angel from the first soundtrack released, with the Orchastra track "The Kiss" with Garage Band on my MacBook and it sounds wicked awesome. I made it sound just like the film had. Awesome Score !!
